About the role
Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader, the Protection and Control Engineer will manage and provide specialist engineering support for WEL’s protection and control and instrumentation (C&I) system.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the protection and control system on WEL’s network to ensure that the system operates reliably and effectively
- Working with the Engineering Team and consultants to form WEL’s protection system roadmap
- Developing and maintaining protection and control system processes and databases
- Developing and maintaining relevant standards, templates and tools
- Providing protection and control setting services
- Providing general engineering support to the business as a member of the Engineering Team
Skills and experience
- A tertiary level qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum five years’ direct experience in the field of protection system, setting, documentations and lifecycle management
- Experience working in an electrical distribution environment
