About the role

As a Protection Technician, you will join our highly skilled team of technicians within the Maintenance Services team, in supporting the reliable and effective operation of our network and associated substations.

Duties

• Providing expert technical services for construction, commissioning, design, repairs and maintenance on the network
• Analysing and repairing substation protection and control systems
• Respond to and repair network faults by participating in a 24 hour callout roster

Skills and experience

• An absolute commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and those around you
• Registered Electrician with an additional Technical Certificate / NZCDE or equivalent
• Confidence and maturity to work alone and make important decisions in the field
• Experience in testing and commissioning substations
• Experience in protection relays and control systems
