We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fleet Manager to come on board and head up WEL’s evolving fleet strategy
Are you ready to deliver a fit-for-purpose and future focused fleet strategy?
Grow and thrive in an innovative utility network
We offer flexible working and medical, life and income protection cover!
About WEL Networks
With around 300 employees WEL Networks, owned by and working for the community, has been serving the Waikato for over 100 years, distributing power from the national grid, connecting over 160,000 people to electricity services.
Based in Hamilton, we play an essential role in the region's economic and social development by identifying and investing in new technologies that will modernise our network and future-proof our region. We’re excited to be broadening our horizons as we diversify from a traditional lines company into a multi-utility.
We are looking for skilled, innovative and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in supporting the company through this exciting new chapter and into the future.
About the role
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Fleet Manager to come on board and head up WEL’s evolving fleet strategy.
Reporting to the Manager Sustainability & Business Improvement, and supported by a Fleet Coordinator, your focus will be on enhancing the company’s fleet strategy by bringing additional focus to sustainability; driver education and behaviour; and vehicle and crew safety, alongside the usual activities of vehicle delivery, maintenance and reporting on our fleet of well over 100 vehicles.
It will be very important that the person successful in this role really enjoys working alongside people at all levels of our organisation, modelling and driving behaviour that optimises good business outcomes.
We are looking for someone who has:
At least 5 years’ experience in fleet management with a focus on safety;
A relevant tertiary, or technical qualification (or significant relevant experience);
Advanced Microsoft Office, and particularly Excel, skills; and
A collaborative, continuous-improvement mindset.
It would be great if you also have an understanding of SAP MMS, but certainly not a deal breaker if you don’t.
At WEL, we look after our people – from full medical, life and income protection insurance cover, and a variety of flexible working options, to the safest equipment and plenty of upskilling opportunities. We will also help you with relocation expenses when moving into the Waikato.
We are committed to making sure our people go home safe every day, and with a drug and alcohol-free worksite we will require you to undertake testing as part of your pre-employment health assessment as well as participating in our annual health assessment programme.
How to Apply
At WEL we value diversity and innovation, and want extraordinary people with vision to join us. It is important to us that we get to experience a little bit of the ‘real you’ in your application. Apply now with your CV and please take the time in a cover letter to tell us what really floats your boat – what sets you apart, why you want to be a part of our team and some of your proudest achievements.
