About the role
We are currently looking for an experienced Cable Test Technician to join our Maintenance Services team.
This is an opportunity to progress into a more technical role, providing support to our Test Van crew as needed; where you will be working with sophisticated testing equipment to test and fault find within our network.
Duties include:
- Cable commissioning, fault finding and cable maintenance condition monitoring
- Primary and secondary testing on field devices
- Construct and maintain the 33KIV/11KV network
- Apply appropriate technology and methods including SCADA control
- Perform high and low voltage switching, ensuring accurate interpretation of switching plans and clear communication with field crews and SYSCON.
- Participating in our on-call faults roster and working unscheduled overtime when required
Skills and experience
- A minimum of 3 years post trade experience – this role requires some depth of experience
- Must be a Registered Electrician or Cable Jointer with a current practicing certificate, a Level 5 Power Technician qualification would be an advantage
- Cable testing and switching experience would be an advantage
- Ability and experience to work independently and unsupervised
- Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to workplace health and safety
