Risk Lead (12-month fixed term)

About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Sustainability & Business Improvement, the Risk Lead is responsible for delivering WEL Networks’ Risk Assurance Programme, ensuring organisational risks are effectively identified, mitigated, and managed.
You will lead internal, risk, and quality audits in line with the three‑year audit plan and ensure compliance with WEL’s Business Management System (BMS) and relevant standards. The role supports continuous improvement and contributes to the safety, resilience, and regulatory integrity of our electricity distribution network.
What you’ll bring
· Experience in risk management, assurance, internal audit, or quality systems, ideally in a regulated or infrastructure environment
· Proven ability to deliver risk assurance and audit programmes
· Working knowledge of ERM frameworks and Business Management Systems
· A collaborative, solutions‑focused approach with the ability to provide practical, independent risk advice
